DR. ROLANDO RODRIGUEZ

Dr. Rolando Rodriguez

Dr. Rolando Rodriguez spent one year in Midland College and went on to obtain his Bachelor's degree in Biology from UT of Permian Basin. He earned his Medical Doctorate from Texas A&M College of Medicine at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, Texas. He then attended residency to become board-certified in Family Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock. He had the honor of being named "Family Medicine Resident of the Year" his senior year of residency.

Dr. Rodriguez married his high school sweetheart Patsy Flores and has 2 wild boys, Viron and Gael. He chose to come to LHC on strong recommendations from mentors and friends, Chad Gray MD and Kelly Klein MD.

Dr. Rodriguez had always wanted to serve a west Texas rural community and serve alongside passionate likeminded physicians like the doctors at LHC. He was drawn to medicine after the passing of his neighbor, teacher, boss, coach, and friend, Johnny Peugh, who taught him to always do his best and to always leave things better than the way he found them. The suddenness of his passing, impressed on him a desire to help others maintain health and prevent disease so we can live life to the fullest with the ones we love for as long as the Lord permits.

In Dr. Rodriguez’s free time he loves spending time with his family-- taking walks, racing and wrestling with his sons. He also enjoys working in the yard, running, reading, and going to high school football games. He is a rabid football fan, especially high school football. "Of the UNIMPORTANT things of the world, the most important thing is football". You are likely to catch him cheering at a local HS football game. Dr. Rodriguez grew up working on a pig farm and still considers himself to be a farm boy at heart!
